Back In Time

This weekend was one of the best we've had in a long time. It was relaxing but not boring....just the right amount of things to do. We started the weekend a little early and went out with a couple of friends Thursday night. We met one of Josh's co-workers, Justin and his fiance Shalon for a night out. This was the first time for us to hang out with the two of them, and I have to say.....I see a long friendship ahead! We were having so much fun that we didn't get home until early Friday morning! Ha ha....haven't done that in FOREVER! I was a trooper though - I made it to work the next day!

We spent Friday night at home with take-out Chinese and a movie - Dear John. I had already seen it in the theater but Josh hadn't seen it yet and it was definitely worth watching again! I am in love with Channing Tatum!! His character, John, reminds me soooo much of my Josh!

Josh went and worked a few hours at the Winter Creek Golf & Country Club Saturday morning and I went on a jog. After I got through running, I walked down to the Farmers Market to look around. They had lots of good looking veggies....I'll have to remember to bring my wallet next time! When Josh got home from the golf course, he made us some PB & J's for lunch and we headed to Norman to get groceries....at least that was the plan! We ended up getting side tracked at Mathis Brothers Furniture and went home with a new coffee table, end table and sofa table! They are just beautiful - I'll have to post some pics soon. After leaving the furniture store, we decided to stop by Cheddars for some appetizers and adult beverages! By the time we got done there, we decided to skip the grocery shopping completely, which was the only thing we had actually planned on doing that day. Ha ha, I love random days like that though!

We had planned on going to a new church for a second visit this morning but we ended up getting a slow start. We promised ourselves that we will be going back next weekend though. I think we may have finally found our church home but it will take a few more visits to be sure. Josh ended up playing golf this afternoon and I met my mom, dad, Me-Me, Grandma and Cathy (also ended up running into Jennifer & Patrick) in Chickasha to see the Chickasha Community Theater's production of Once Upon A Mattress. It was really neat because this was the first time for the community theater to perform in the old Washita Theater since they refurbished it! I have so many memories of going to see movies in this theater when I was in Jr. High. Lots of my girlfriends had their first dates and maybe even first kisses in this theater (I was a late bloomer and way too shy for boys! hee hee!). The play was really good and the theater looked awesome!

The rest of the evening was spent finishing up laundry and cooking a HUGE supper. We had chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn on the cob, rolls and iced sweet tea! What better way to end the weekend?! Too bad Josh has to start his work week tonight...the weekends are just never long enough, right?
